Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you enter a name or date of birth into a search tool, the information goes to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and returns results. Connecticut Warrant Records does not store or log search terms entered through those partner tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or other message sent to the site is kept so it can be answered. It is handled by the site team and is not shared outside the organization unless a legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may receive technical details about the visit, including:
- The date and time of a page view
- Your device type and operating system
- The Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to the device
- The page you viewed and how long you stayed there
- The website that referred you, when available
- The browser used to access the page
Cookies and Analytics
Small cookie files may be stored on your device so analytics services can group site-traffic information, such as which pages receive visits and where visitors leave. Browser settings can block cookies. If you do, some site features may work differently.
What We Do With This Data
- Keep the site available and improve loading speed
- Send a search request to the partner service that runs the tool
- Measure traffic and see which pages are useful
- Find and repair technical problems
- Display advertising that may relate to a visitor’s interests
No Warrant Data on File
Connecticut Warrant Records does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of warrants or personal warrant records. Connecticut’s public record routes include a limited Judicial Branch warrant page, Superior Court case files, and local police or CSP records; PRAWN is restricted to authorized agencies. Historic counties have no sheriff warrant offices. The Connecticut Freedom of Information Act, including C.G.S. §§1-210 and 1-215, governs access to covered public-agency and arrest records subject to exemptions. Those government-record rules do not turn this private site into a custodian of warrant or visitor records. The site is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search tools that may appear on these pages. Information entered into a partner tool is handled under that provider’s privacy policy. Each provider sets its own retention and sharing practices. Review its policy before sending information; Connecticut Warrant Records does not control those practices.
Links to Other Websites
Pages may link to Connecticut court records, state offices, local police, legal resources, or outside search services. When you follow a link, the destination’s privacy policy applies to that visit. Read it before sharing personal details.
Some advertising partners may track activity across websites for ad placement. That tracking occurs on their systems, not through the official court or law-enforcement records described here.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Depending on how you use the site, information may be received by:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order requires it
- Ad networks that place advertisements on pages
- Analytics vendors measuring site use and performance
- Search partners that process requests entered into their tools
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet service can promise perfect security or that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a minor has shared information through the site, contact the site team so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on where you live and which law applies. Connecticut’s FOIA, including C.G.S. §1-210, concerns qualifying public-agency records and is subject to exemptions; it is not a visitor-data access law for this private site. The Connecticut arrest-record statute, C.G.S. §1-215, has its own scope and exceptions. As a site policy, a visitor may:
- Request a copy of information the site holds about them
- Ask that an error in that information be corrected
- Request deletion of their data
- Ask to opt out of certain processing
Updates to This Policy
The privacy policy may change. Any revision will be posted here with a new effective date. Review this page from time to time for updates to the site’s information practices.
